Mrs. Holmberg Summoned at Her Home Here

Mrs. Amelia E. Holmberg, wife of Carl O. Holmberg, the president of the Highland Lumber & Fuel company, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday at her home, 225 Highland avenue following a prolonged illness.

Mrs. Holmberg's health had been failing for four years, and of late her condition had become noticeably more serious.

The daughter of a pioneer Swedish family, Mrs. Holmberg was born in Rockford on Jan. 2, 1876. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Nelson, settled here in 1865. Mrs. Holmberg was educated here, and for many years played a prominent part in the city's social activities.

Mr. Nelson is still living here, but his wife died a year ago. In addition to the husband and the father, there survive one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Holmberg, a graduate of Rockford college, a brother, Frank Nelson, of Rockford, and two aunts, Mrs. Emily Sandgren and Mrs. Herman Nelson, also of this city.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the home and at 2 p.m. at the Swedish Mission Tabernacle, the Rev. A.T. Frykman officiating. Burial will be in the Scandinavian cemetery.
