Frederick Arthur Stoltenburg, 76 of 121 N. Bedford St., Carlisle, died Monday, June 22, 1998, in Forest Park Health Center.

Born June 4, 1922, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Harry and Freida Meinericha Stoltenburg and the widower of Janet Marie Warner Stoltenburg.

Retired from W.H. Garland Inc. of Carlisle, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Mt. Holly Springs United Methodist Church and VFW Post 477, Carlisle.

Mr. Stoltenburg is survived by a son, Frederick B. of Newville; three brothers, Karl, Harry and Earl, all of Oil City; two sisters, Lois Chapel of Oil City and Doris Stoltenburg of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip L.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Bradley C. Knepp and the Rev. J. Kenneth Barner officiating. Burial will be in Kutz's Cemetery.
