Dies From Pneumonia

August Sandman, 41 years of age, died at his home near Lake Zurich, early Monday morning, after being ill with pneumonia which was contracted from a bad cold. The funeral was held from the residence Wednesday and the body laid to rest in the Lake Zurich cemetery, Rev. Erich Bizer, pastor of the Lake Zurich church officiated.

Mr. Sandman was born in Barrington township, Cook county, April 20, 1878 and was the oldest son of Mrs. Mina Sandman, who together with three brothers and four sisters survive. The brothers are William, Henry and Edward; sisters, Anna, Amanda, Matilda and Mrs. Elmer Heidman, all of whom live in or near Lake Zurich. His father died some years ago.

A brother, Private Leo L. Sandman, gave his life on the battlefield of France November 2, 1918.

Mr. Sandman was a farmer and at the time of his demised owned and operated his own farm which was known as the Wilke place.
