Mary and Aaron Chandler hailed from Machiasport, Maine, and were in their 50's when they moved to Seattle in the 1870's. They settled in D'Wasmish, which would later become the Georgetown area south of current downtown Seattle.

In 1880 census of Duwamish, King Co WA, Mary Chandler was listed as 48, b. Maine, wife of Aaron Chandler, 50, of Maine. Their children were b. in Maine: Charles, 30; Carey, 27; Jennie, 20; Fannie, 18; Benjamin, 13. Son Aaron F. was married to Martha, and not in the parents' household.

Fannie M Chandler married Edward H Plummer on Aug 28, 1880 at her parents house at the head of Elliott Bay in King Co, with her parents and sister Jennie as witnesses.

Jennie E Chandler married William H Requa on 17 June 1883, at the residence of Ed H Plummer, with AW Chandler and wife as witnesses. It was reported Jennie died in Lewiston, Idaho, having had children Nettie, Jennie and Fannie.

Benjamin Chandler married Elizabeth Allenby on 29 Jan 1901 in Seattle. Per 1920 and 1930 census, she was b. in New Zealand about 1876 and immigrated in 1891. His grave has not been located; she has Memorial# 67187855

Mary J Chandler had a plat in the Wedgewood area of North Seattle.

CHANDLER--At the residence of her daughter, 2802 Eighth Avenue South, July 20, 1908. Mary Jane, widow of the late Capt. A.W. Chandler, and mother of Mrs. Charles E. Phelps, Mrs. Abbie F. Phelps and Benjamin Chandler, aged 36 years.
Funeral services will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) from the chapel of Butterworth & Sons, 1921 First Avenue, at 2 p.m. All friends invited. Interment at Lake View.
