MRS. CARL ZIRTZMAN
Mrs. Carl Zirtzman, who died about two weeks ago, was a true Christian woman, one who was ever ready to lend a helping hand. Not once during her illness of two weeks was she heard to complain, but was ready to go at the call of her Maker. She leaves her aged husband and five daughters - Mrs. R. Houlahan of Ryan, Mrs. C. H. Angel of Delhi, and one daughter of Frankfort, S. D., Mrs. J. A. Giliespie, of Minneapolis, Mrs. H. Guthornson of Delaware and Chas. and Henry of the same place.

Mrs. Zirtzman ws born in Freidland, Germany, November 25, 1845. She came to America in 1867, locating in Dubuque, and on July 24 of the same year was married to Carl Zirtzman, then residing in that city. in 1870 this worthy family removed to a farm where their son Chas. now lives. They lived in the home where she died for about thirteen years.

Rev. Mr. Ketler, pastor of the German Lutheran church, conducted the funeral services. A large company of sorrowing friends crowded the church. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent by friends from Dubuque, Monticello, Ryan, Earlville, Hopkinton and Delhi. She leave seven children and twenty-one grandchildren and her aged husband.

Interment was made in the cemetery near Delaware.

The pall bearers were her two sons, Charles and Henry Zirtzman, a nephew, Herman Zirtzman, and three sons-in-laws, R. Houlahan, of Ryan, and C. H. Angel of Delhi and Harry Guthorson of Delaware.
