Alan Amsberry passed away on March 29, 2011 at home, surrounded by family.

Alan was born in 1930, to Guy and Inez Amsberry, and was raised in the Pacific Northwest with his sister Velma.

After serving in Korea as a Navy Corpsman, Alan met and married his wife Mary and together they raised five children.

Alan owned and operated Amsberry's Variety in Blaine and prior to his retirement worked for U.S. Immigration.

In addition to having a great sense of humor and a love for laughter, Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcarving, construction, and a good stiff drink. His proudest accomplishment is his family.

Memorials can be made to Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
