Mason, James age 96, of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. He was born July 13, 1914 in Biardstown, TX to Luther Emerson and Lila Mae (Lentz) Mason. He retired from Republic National Bank as Vice President.

Survivors include one son, James R. Mason, Jr. and wife Martha of Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Jean Blackwell and husband Garry of Forney, TX; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Dora Frances (Whitehead) Mason and two sisters, Dorothy McClure and Margie Kirtley.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, April 4, 2011 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
