John, the son of James Tiffany (1666-1732) and Bethiah Fuller (1670-1711), married Deliverance Parmenter (1717-1798) on 26 May 1737. John and Deliverance Tiffany had twelve children. Their four daughters were Esther, Deliverance, Martha, and Ann. Their eight sons were John, Humphrey, Noah, Hosea, Thomas, Abijah, Zechariah, and Hezekiah. Hezekiah is buried at Bushnell Cemetery in Sodus, Wayne County, New York (Find A Grave Memorial# 23114722).
"The family in Susquehanna county are the descendants of John and Deliverance (Parmenter) Tiffany, prominent settlers at Attleboro, Mass., where they lived and died. They reared a family of sons and daughters who were inspired with patriotism, devotion, and aggressive achievement. The sons all served in the Revolutionary war, and became noted pioneers in the spread of civilization westward from New England centers. The daughters became noble pioneer women. John Tiffany died at Attleboro in 1788. His wife, who was born in 1718, died in 1798. Their sons were Capt.
