Lucile Seely Peterson

Lucile Seely Peterson, 87, died Jan. 27, 2001 at Salt Lake City. Born Aug. 16, 1913 in Indianola, Utah to William Berkley and Hattie Maud Meriweather Seely. Married Wallace F. Peterson, July 27, 1933 in Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.


Attended Indianola and Mt. Pleasant Schools. Housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked side by side with Wallace on their farm for 60 years. Faithful temple worker in Manti and Provo LDS Temples as an ordinance worker for 16 years.


She was loved by all.


Survived by children: LaRita (Wayne) Beck, Mt. Pleasant; Bertha (Berti) Hermansen, West Valley; Joyce Jones, Salt Lake; Beulah (Dale) Edwards, Moab; Dwight (Linda) Peterson, Saratoga Springs; Venice Jensen, Salt Lake. 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Sister-in-law, Claudia Seely, Orem. Proceeded in death by daughter, Diane Maurine Peterson, son-in-law, Richard Jensen and two grandsons, Craig Dale Edwards and Steven Vaughn Peterson.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant 5th Ward, 50 S. State. Friends may call at Ward Friday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Highland Care Center.
