Mrs. Catharine K. Wertz, widow of John K. Wertz, died suddenly Saturday of heart trouble at her home at Bausman, on the Millersville turnpike, after her return from market. She was in her seventieth year and was born near Conestoga Centre. For some years she resided at West Willow, before taking charge of the first toll gate on the Millersville turnpike, where she and her husband resided for twenty-one years. After the death of her husband, about five years ago she resided in Lampeter and Lancaster until two years ago, when she moved to Bausman. She was a member of St. Paul's M.E. Church.
