Edgar Austin, 69, of Springfield died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007. He was born June 28, 1937, in Lexington, Miss., the son of Henry King and Rosie Jones Austin Sr. He married Shirley Frye in 1958 in Merigold, Miss. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Austin.
Mr. Austin retired in 1991 as a coalminer for Peabody Coal Mine. He was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors: wife, Shirley; four daughters; son; two sisters; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services: Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Charles Tiner officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
