KINGSFORD - Beatrice Leona Maki, 87, of Kingsford, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1923, in Felch, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Wickman) Isaacson.

Beatrice graduated from Felch High School. She worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell.

Beatrice married Leonard Wilho Maki on Sept. 4, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death in 2000.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.

Beatrice is survived by a son, Gary (Patti) Maki of Farmington Hills, Mich.; daughters, Gail Maki of Pontiac, Mich. and Gina (Karsten) Roemer of Clarkston, Mich.; a sister, Joyce Muterspaugh of Iron Mountain; many nieces and nephews; and seven grandchildren Brynn, Kristen, Todd, and Emily Maki; Isaac Kwiatkowski; and Janine and Jermaine Roemer.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Amelia (Warner) Anderson, Agda (Ivar) Lindstrom, Mildred Isaacson, Clarice (Christ) Richtig and Ellen Isaacson, and brothers, Alfred, Leo, Werner, and Chester Isaacson.

Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.

The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate.

Burial will take place in the Felch Cemetery.
