Funeral for A.C. Hamm, 81, of Decatur will be Sunday, April 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Copeland officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamm, who died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital, was born July 8, 1929, in Mississippi to the late Purvie and Audie Mae Hamm. He retired from Monsanto and was a house painter for 45 years. His son, Michael Hamm, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Hamm; one son, Alan Hamm; one brother, Oscar Hamm; two sisters, Maxine Jarnigan and Sue Holley; one grandchild, Brad Hamm; and two great-grandchildren, James Alan Hamm and Matthew Farish.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Holley, Gary Sartin, Rob Hall, Scotty Holley, Dewayne Sartin and Jeff Vess.
