Wilhelm Althouse, pioneer settler in Nebraska, was born August 18, 1842, and died on May 16, 1928, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 28 days, at the home of his son, George, near Utica. He came to Wisconsin in 1857 from Germany, the country of his birth. In the year 1871 he was married to Wilhelmina Brehmer of Milwaukee and immediately moved to Nebraska near Greenwood where he resided until 1882, when he moved to Utica, Nebr., his home since. Eight children were born to this union, four sons and four daughters, who mourn his loss beside thirty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hafemeister.
