Lorenz Peeter Jesperson is the father of my Great Grand Aunt, Kate Jesperson who was married to Henry Wells. He was born in Tønder, Sonderjylland, Denmark. He came to the United States in 1854 and married Jane B Montgomery in 1857 in Cedar, Iowa. In 1861 he enlisted in the Union Army and fought for a year or more until he was released for injuries in 1862. They had already had Kate in 1860 and when he got back in 1863 they had several more children including Anna, who is buried next to them. Peter was a farmer and before 1870 they moved to Ashland, Nebraska and that is where they got hooked up with my family.
