The following is the Obituary of Morgan Henry Davis as published in the 1884 Detroit Annual Confrence Minutes of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

"Morgan H. Davis came to Michigan from Centralia, Canada, September, 1882, and was appointed as paster of the M. E. Church at Millington, in the Saninaw District, then under the supervision of Rev.J. S. Smart. He entered upon his work under a voluntary but emphatic promise to the presiding elder to do faithful work. He served for one year, and at the session of 1883 was received into the Detroit Conference, and returned to the same charge, and on Dec. 2, 1883, his "body and his charge laid down, and ceased at once to work and live." He had delivered his second message on that Sabbath day, and, after announcing the hymn with which the evening services was to close, he attempted to sit down, but fell upon the seat, stricken and paralysis. He had kept his promise of faithful service, and he fell in the pulpit, by his fall, enforced upon the congregation the heavely council he had just given. The peple sang, Are you ready when the Bridegroom Cometh?" and he answered with a shout of "Hallelujah!" and they wept as the bereaved weep. He remained for two or three hours, and testified that the angels had come to bear him to a home above, and admonished those present to have their lamps trimmed and burning. He was a good man and useful, and his death was triumphant."
