Olivia F. Beste, age 89 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 29 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Julius Beckermann will officiate with Rev. Todd Schneider concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Olivia Frances Butkowski was born June 23, 1921 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to Ignatius and Anna (Korte) Butkowski. She married Norman Henry in 1941 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa and he preceded her in death in 1947. On September 12, 1951 she married Herman Beste at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She had been employed at Ben Franklin in Sauk Centre for 17 years. Throughout her life, Olivia enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, gardening, and quilt making. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary.

Survivors include six children, Mary Lou (Math) Lieser of Cold Spring, Carol (Math) Stalboerger of Princeton, William (Patricia) Henry of Wolf Point, Montana, Norman (Barbara) Henry of Hinton, Iowa, Loren (Laurie) Beste of Sauk Centre, and Alan (Katrina) Beste of St. Joseph; son-in-law, Daniel Hinnenkamp of Cold Spring; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roger Butkowski of St. Rosa, Lucille (George) Stanek of Bloomington, Marvin (Dorothy) Butkowski of Minnetonka, Dorothy (Cap) Weller of Elrosa, LaVern (Norb) Fleischhacker of Maplewood, Annette (Sylvester) Hollenkamp of St. Rosa, Melvin (Carol) Butkowski of St. Joseph, and Raymond (Lonnie) Butkowski of St. Rosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Norman Henry on June 19, 1947 and Herman Beste on October 19, 1999; daughter, Janet Hinnenkamp on May 21, 2009; brothers, Florian and Jerome Butkowski; and sister, Bernice Herzog.

Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons, Mark Lieser, Mike Stalboerger, Roland Henry, Jim Beste, Nick Beste, and Ryan Beste. Serving as cross bearer will be her granddaughter, Marcia Spoden and scripture bearer will be her grandson, Chris Stalboerger. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.
