Albert Dale Criner, 67, of Yates City since 1952, died at 9:37 am Wednesday April 17, 1996, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Nov 12, 1928, in Thornton, Iowa to DeWitt and Irene Snow Criner, he married Elsie Haury on July 30, 1950, in Raymond. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Suzanne Sager, and Sheryl Himegarner, both of Yates City, and Deborah Butterfield of Edwards; two sisters, Ruth Dorsch and Beryl Theilen, both of Springfield; six grand-children;and one grat-grandchild. One brother prededed him in death.
A korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Farmington American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He was a superintendent at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Elmwood Independent Order of Odd Fellows, serving as noble grand at his death. He was a member of Salem Township Cemetery Board. He was active with Yates City Lions Club and Boy Scouts of America.
He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Chruch, where he taught Sunday school for many years and was an elder.
Services will be at 2 pm. Saturday at Patterson Funeral home in Elmwood. The Rev Cheryl Lunday will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Yates City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his church or the American Cancer society.
