In 1906 Edgar married Miss Amanda D. Markel. The couple settled down in Zelienople, Butler Co., PA. They spent most of their married lives on New Castle St. They had eight children: Mary Elizabeth, Carl Martin, John F., Irene A., Edward C., Robert J., Roland D., and Betty J.
Edgar worked as a machinist, electrician, and as a conductor on the "street rail".
Amanda died at age 76, having outlived Edgar by four years. He died in 1959 at age 74.
