My Dear Rebeccah:
I once more have the pleasure of informing you of my good health and prosperity. I arrived here this evening with the hope and prospect of getting a letter from home, but to my great mortification I was disappointed, thinking certainly when we got here we would hear from home. Bean and William Rankin shared the same fate. I sent you a few lines from Indianapolis which I suppose you have by this time. From Indianapolis we came by way of Terre Haute, where we were very much pleased.
It goes on much in the same vein.
