He was born in North Adams on July 7, 1920, a son of the late Charles and Alma (Hermann) Cook. He attended schools in North Adams. He was a decorated veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army.
He was last employed at the General Electric Co. in Pittsfield. He was a former member of the North Adams Eagles.
His wife, Vera (Lapan) Cook, whom he married in October of 1950, died in October of 2003.
Survivors include one son: Robert P. Cook of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Carl Cook.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main Street, North Adams.
Burial will take place at a later date in Clarksburg Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be held on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
