Mr. John Austin, after an illness of several days, died on Wednesday night of last week at the East Louisiana Hospital for the Insane. His remains were brought to Jackson on Thursday, where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. J. Davies and the interment was made in the Austin cemetery in West Feliciana. At the same hour, in another cemtery in West Feliciana, the body of Mrs. Green Spillman, sister-in-law of Mr. Austin, was buried, she having died in New Orleans where she went for treatment. Mr. Willie Austin of Ruston was summoned to attend his father and remained for his funeral.
