His brother Lewis P., spelling his surname "Besom," served in the same company.
2. Enlisted at the stated age of twenty-four in Carlisle August 31, 1864, mustered into federal service that day as a private with Co. A, 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry (92nd Pennsylvania), and honorably discharged by general order to date May 29, 1865.
