According to his military record from the National Archives, I.T. Aldrich "Died at Louisville Ky. Dec. 5, 1862 of disease; was not engaged in any battle." While one recorded comment says something about 12/21 in New Albany, IN, two other comments of record state that he "Died in hospital" and "Died of disease" on the 5th. Additionally, the New Albany Soldiers Cemetery register also lists 05 Dec 1862 as the date of death.
