Charles Kennith Phelps, 70, of Morgantown, died March 28, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System. The Butler County native was a tug boat pilot. He was a son of the late Willis Phelps and Zonie Mae Johnson Childress and her husband, Harold, of Morgantown, who survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony Phelps and Kenneth Phelps; and two grandchildren, Charles Pepper and Randy Phelps II. Funeral is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Chapel, with burial in Payton Phelps Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Other survivors include his wife, Trilba Phelps; four daughters, Karen Phelps Munk and her husband, Brian, Gailene Phelps, Tammy Phelps and Karlessa Conner and her husband, Justin; four sons, Randy Phelps and his wife, Lisa, Emanuel Phelps and his wife, Jennifer, Shawn Phelps and his wife, Anette, and Virgil Phelps and his wife, Angela; three sisters, Mandy Marie Morris, Ester Phelps and Darlene Phelps Childress, all of Morgantown; two brothers, Laymond Phelps and Dean Childress, both of Morgantown; grandchildren, Mary Ragland and her husband, Phillip, Blaze Everley, Dominique Everley, Terron Phelps, Jessica Phelps, Michele Phelps, Zachary Phelps, Nolan Conner, Riley Conner, Olivia Phelps, Randall Phelps, Donnie Pepper, Bridgett Sanders, April Sanders, Lisa Phelps, Larry LaFollette, James Fox, Chase Teague and Blake Teague; and 17 great-grandchildren.
