ABBOTSFORD - Carl R. Gosse, 84, of 505 N. Second St., Abbotsford, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted Dec. 13. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Joseph Giovenco will officiate and burial will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Visitations will begin after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford. He was born April 17, 1898 in Potter, Calumet County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Anna Kobs) Gosse. At the age of four, he moved with his parents to a farm in the Town of Green Grove. He and Callie Klieman were married March 29, 1922 in Marathon County. They observed their 60th anniversary on March 29, 1982. He did carpentry and construction work in the Town of Holton and later did road construction work in Stevens Point and Plover until 1950. He then moved to Milwaukee, where he was employed by the Metchell Manufacturing Co., until 1962 when he moved back to Abbotsford. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Orth of Abbotsford, and Mrs. Pete (Wanita) Claverie of Livermore, Calif; two sons, Arvin of Abbotsford and Arnold of Sacramento, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, three brothers and a grandson.
