John H. Arble, 94, Spring Mils RR, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte. He was born Aug 9, 1904, in Altoona, the son of the late John H. Sr. and Isabella Arble. He was twice married, first to Madge M. Leasure June 21, 1930, who died March 18, 1972. He then married Louise Smith Sept. 6, 1980, who died Oct. 5, 1995. Mr. Arble retired as an inspector for the U.S. Customs Service, Detroit in 1967, after more than 37 years of service. He was a 1923 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Hiram College, Warren, Ohio. He was a member of the American Federation of Government Employees and enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are a son, William C. of Spring Mills RR, five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son David T. Arrangements were made by the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, Centre Hall. Interment was made in Home, Pa.
