Keith Floyd Adams, 90, a Blackfoot resident, died at his home Saturday, March 26, 2011, following an illness.

He was born May 7, 1920, in American Fork, Utah, the son of Byron L. and Nora V. Adamson Adams.

He attended schools in Springfield, Grandview and Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School.

He married Melba Bartlett on Nov. 23, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was further solemnized in the Oakland LDS Temple. She preceded him in death June 7, 2007.

Between his military career and his sales jobs, Keith has lived in various places, including Seattle, Wash.; Lewiston, Idaho; San Francisco, Calif., a couple of times; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and came back to Blackfoot for good in 1984.

He had worked for Bingham Sales, Mt. States Implement, Boeing and ultimately for Western Union for 25 years.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in about every capacity. He was also a member of the VFW and started the chapter in Blackfoot, where he also served as its first commander. He was also very involved in the Blackfoot Senior Citizens Center and was a Senior of Blackfoot Golfer.

He loved to golf and was proud of making a hole-in-one four different times in his life. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling.

He is survived by a son and daughter, Craig (Phyllis) Adams of Spokane, Wash., and Karen Gunter of Sunnyvale, Calif.; six grandchildren, Rob and Tom Gunter and Heather, Samantha, Matthew and Seth Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Piper and Grayson.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Harry, Ray, Don, Gene and Wendell.

Funeral services are being delayed at Keith's request until 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Groveland LDS church. The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Hawker Funeral Home on and for an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Interment will be in Groveland Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the Stewart Hoover Post No. 23 of the American Legion.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Blackfoot Senior Citizens Center.
