Former Clark County resident Elsie Mae Vorce Neel, 102, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998, in Portland.
Mrs. Neel was born Oct. 26, 1895, in Madison, Wis., and moved from Camas to Redmond, Ore., in 1977.
She worked in the bag factory at the paper mill in Camas for 37 years before retiring in 1960. When Mrs. Neel was 95, she enjoyed the scenery while riding the ski lift to the top of Mount Bachelor.
Her husband, Jesse J., preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Theo Hobson of Portland; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. The casket will be open until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mother: Martha Louize Vorce, b. 1877, Germany, d. 8 Aug 1916, Clarkston, Asotin, Washington.
Spouse: (1) Theodore Cole, m. 1 Sep 1917, Moscow, Latah, Idaho. Divorced.
Spouse: (2) Jesse James Neel, 20 Jun 1924, Vancouver, Clark, Washington. Jesse Neel was first married to Elsie's sister, Hazel Adell Vorce.
