PASSENGER TRAIN HITS AUTOMOBILE
A most distressing accident occured at Wilbren Friday evening when west bound C. and M.V. passenger train struck
an automobile containing Leonard Hoops and his brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hoops. It was a new automobile and the engine died as the car was crossing the
track. The body of Leonard, age 16, was killed instantly and his brother Albert. aged 20, died in a Lancaster
hospital Saturday morning, where he and wife were taken om
the train which struck them...
The Hoops brothers are miners and resided at Wilbren three
miles east of New Lexington on C.M.V. Railroad. It was the most distressing accident occuring here in years, and the
surviving relatives are receiving profound sympathy from
all..
