Backward Glances - 60 Years Ago:

A Five Points man was killed Friday when his car struck a Western of Alabama train in Shawmut. The victim was identified as Bascum S. Quattlebaum. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a West Point, GA hospital. Quattlebaum was alone in his 1949 model Plymouth when he struck the engine.
