Mrs. Mary Snuffer, long time resident of Liberty County and Chester, passed away suddenly last Saturday afternoon. She had been ill and was getting ready to go to the hospital and died while getting ready to go.

She was born the 30th day of August 1889 at Crystal, North Dakota. She lived there until 1909 when she moved with her family to Montana. She was married to Thomas Snuffer in 1912. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.

She is survived by two brothers, Daniel and Joseph Sullivan of Seattle, Wash., and John of Minneapolis, Minn.; and one sister, Mrs. William Zimmerman of Oregon City, Ore.

Mary Snuffer had been one of the outstanding teachers in Liberty County for a good many years. She taught twenty-five years in the county, always in rural schools; and turned out some of the best students the county has ever produced. She taught in Tromer school, the old Horse Creek school, Grauman, Meissner, Hay Coulee, North Lothair, Lothair, and Fairview. Wherever she taught, her eighth grade graduates, on entering high school were always outstanding students.

Funeral services in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial in Chester Catholic cemetery.
