Mr. and Mrs. Bronson were for many years residents of this city, the former being a native here. Mrs. Bronson was born in Oxford, Chenango county, November 19, 1836, and came to Amsterdam when a young lady to attend school in the old academy. It was here that she became acquainted with Isaac Bronson, whom she married. In 1864, Isaac Bronson died and in 1867 his brother, Edward D. Bronson, returned from California, where he had been since 1856 and some time later married Mrs. Bronson. They resided in Amsterdam a number of years and then removed to Philadelphia and from there to Denver, CO, where Mr. Bronson was interested in practical mining. After several years' residence in Denver Mr. and Mrs. Bronson moved to Mexico. Mrs. Bronson died Monday, December 2, after a short illness of pleurisy and heart affection.
Her husband and three sons, William T., Edward E. and Charles, all of whom reside in Mexico, survive her, also two sisters. Burial was in the American cemetery at Mexico City.
Mrs. Bronson is well remembered by the older residents of Amsterdam. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian church, was a genial, helpful, kind-hearted lady and had many warm friends who will be pained to hear of her death. Amsterdam Evening Recorder, Tuesday, December 10, 1907
