Kenneth "Farrell" Potter, Sr., 76, of Flatwoods, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.

Mr. Potter was born March 22, 1935 in Greenup Co., a son of the late Elmer F. and Mary Kirk Potter. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie "Wickie" Melvin Potter.

He was a retired maintenance worker for Rich Oil in Ironton, Ohio and was a United States Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Nannie Marie Coffee Potter; four daughters, Veronica (Larry) Fradd of Kitts Hill, Ohio, Teresa (James) Spence of Greenup, Deanna Potter of Columbus, Ohio, and Tammy (Mike) Swymn of La.; five sons, David (Lisa) Potter of Louisville, Richard Potter of Ashland, Kenneth (Hazel) Potter, Jr. of Greenup, Dion (Sandy) Griffith of Texas and Gary Potter of Vanceburg; a sister, Bernice Stephens of Ashland; a brother, Herbert Potter of Greenup; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Jimmy Morrison and the Rev. Jim Porter. Burial will be in the Melvin Cemetery in Wurtland.

Friends may call on today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
