Noble was killed in action when his B-17 was shot down by enemy aircraft and crashed near Goerne, Germany during the war. He was a Tail Gunner.

Noble also has a memorial cross in the Veterans Section here at Maple Hill with other fallen soldiers and a memorial stone in Cariens Cemetery along with his brother, Ivan.
