Clarksdale, Miss., Aug. 18- Friends in Clarksdale are deeply grieved to learn of the death of Walter R. Alcorn, a popular and beloved young man of the community, who passed away this morning at the home of a relative at Bartlett, Tenn. The body will be brought here tomorrow for interment.
The Deceased had been in ill-health for several years, every effort having been made to restore him to health, which ministrations included several months' sojouru in Colorado, and the best medical attention that could be procured in the country. He leaves a large circle of relatives, being a member of one of the oldest and best families of the county and state, and numerous friends who regret his early demise. A young wife and little daughter of tender years survive him.
