OBITUARY :
S. E. HAUVER, FORMER MAYOR OF SMITHSBURG

STANLEY E. HAUVER, 76, of 15 E. Water St., died Saturday morning.

Born in Foxville, Md., he was the son of Albert L. and Minnie Fox Hauver.

He owned and operated the Valley Hardware Store in Smithsburg for many years and served as mayor of Smithsburg for 18 years.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of Acia Lodge #155 AF & AM in Thurmont.

He is survived by one son, Elwood E. Hauver of Smithsburg; 6 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg. The Rev. R. Henry Neikirk will officiate.

Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers and memorial donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Building Fund in care of A. H. Abraham, Rt. 1, Smithsburg.
