Her birth announcement in Tattnall Journal Mar 19, 1903 reads : St. Jas. B. Alexander, our popular postmaster, is the happiest man in town. He has a sweet little girl baby at his house. Sainty says he is awful glad that his baby is a girl, for when it grows up it will not be accused of stuffing the ballot box, jumping town tax or will never be a defeated candidate for the legislature. No..it will escape all of these things for it is not built that way.
(Obviously, he had no idea of the changes that would take place politically)
