Wife of William A Billings, married February 1, 1865 Scott County, Illinois

Mrs. Eliza Billings, who was 86 years old last August 31, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday at the home of her son, Norman J. Billings, three and one-half miles southwest of White Hall. She suffered a stroke of paralysis on Thursday before. She was a native of Manchester, daughter of J. F. and Nancy Curtis. She and W. A. Billings were married 62 years ago, and they located on a farm east of Manchester, where he died on January 9, 1910. She resided with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Helm, at Roodhouse previous to going to the home of her son Norman last March. Another daughter is Mrs. W. L. Spencer of Pueblo, Colorado. She was also the mother of Dr. J. S. Billings of White Hall. She was a charter member of the Christian Church of Manchester.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Charles L. Leitz at the Christian in Manchester at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning. Interment was in Manchester cemetery.
Mrs. C. C. Brown, of White Hall, sang, accompanied by Miss Kate Ellis, also of White Hall.
The pall bearers were William Arendell, Douglas Day, J. C. Akers, Frank Whitney, Joe Curtis and Curtis Brown.
The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Kirby Tankersley, Mrs. C. L. Leitze, Mrs. Will Henderson and Mrs. J. C. Akers.
