Crossville Chronicle, Cumberland Cty, TN January 1, 1953

The sudden passing of Rev William Bishop Waldrop, pastor of the Homestead Methodist Church here, was a shock to our town. His passing occurred about 2:45 p.m. Monday in the office of a local physician where he had gone 'feeling badly'. He evidently suffered a heart attack.
Prayer services were held at the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday. His son, J T Waldrop of Columbia, Miss and Mrs Waldrop, wife of the deceased, accompanied the remains to Columbia where burial will occur.
Rev and Mrs Waldrop came here in September, 1952 from Savannah, TN, and although they were only here a short time, endeared themselves to the people here. Survivors include J T, 2 other sons and a daughter.
