"Letitia L., wife of Elisha T. Mitchell, died at her husband's residence in Seymour, Saturday morning, February 16th, 1889, a few minutes before six o'clock, of paralysis. Aged 52 years. Brief funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon by Rev. Pye, pastor of the M. E. church, after which the remains were interred at the Seymour cemetery. A husband, son, daughter, one sister and a number of warm friends mourn their loss.
The deceased was a kind mother and a devoted wife. She always had a smile for her friends and all who became acquainted with her found her to be a true, christian woman-one who never failed or refused to do a kind and charitable act when it was in her power to do so. She was liked by all who knew her-no one could help from liking her bbecause of her wonmanly ways. The deceased had many warm friends in this couty who feel deeply grieved over her death, and who sympathize with the family over thier great loss.
The deceased was born in New Orleans, La., Dec 30, 1836. Her maiden name was Stoakes. She was married to Mr. Mitchell Dec 25, 1869. She joined the Methodist church when a young lady and at time of her death was a member of that church in Austin."
