Mr. Abraham "Podge" Waller Clements, 92, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 5:42 P.M. Wednesday October 7, 2009 at his residence in Madisonville.
He was born December 9, 1916 in Union County, KY to the late Baldwin Johnson and Margaret Evelyn Kagey Clements. He was also preceded in death by his 1st wife Lena Ray Sosh Clements and his 2nd wife, Mildred Corum Clements.
Mr. Clements was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville. He was an Engineer for over forty years for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was a lifetime member of the Morganfield Masonic Lodge, the Rizpah Shrine, The Elks and the American Legion.
He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Lou Croft of Madisonville; two step sons, James (Joy Waddle) Woodruff of Webster Grove, MO and Larry L. (Janie Wilber) Woodruff of Fayetteville, AR; one granddaughter, Ashley (Joseph) Croft-Barnes, three great-grandchildren, Ashonie Croft, Adreana Reynolds and Xavior Youngblood; eight step-grandchildren, Kim (Jason) Schwartz, Krista (Rob) Abney, Glenn (Ann Marie) Woodruff, Gary (Carol) Woodruff, Gordon (Lisa) Woodruff, Greg (Cheryl) Woodruff, Nathan (Kelly) Woodruff and Clayton (Corinna) Woodruff; eight step great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Parker, Evelyn, Dylan, and Sophia Woodruff and Trevor and Alexia Abney.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday October 17, 2009 at Barnett Strother Funeral home with Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the service time at the funeral home from.
Memorial donations may be made to Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
