BURTON, Walter S. 65, of Dayton, passed away Thursday March 24, 2011. He was born in Briceville, Tennessee on September 30, 1945. Walter was retired from the Dayton Daily News in Franklin and served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Englewood Pentecostal Church.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda; his parents, Gaynes & Faye Burton. Survived by 3 daughters, Lisa Hastings (Steve), Michelle Parlett (Daniel, Sr.), Anita Gilleland (Matt); 6 grandchildren, Kevin, Daniel, Danielle, Devyn, Nicklaus & Katelynn; 6 sisters, Neva Griffith (Robert), Betty Simpson, Kathy Partin (Ralph), Diann Brooks (Melvin), Nina Meadors (James), Sandra Cooper (Carl); brother, David Burton (Mary); numerous nieces, nephews & friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Betty & Robert Barber and Dr. Mostafavi & the I.C.U. staff at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Funeral services at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Pastor Eddie Clemments, officiating. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Walters family will receive friends at the George C. Martin Funeral Home.
