William Harvey Bailey was born December 4, 1970 in Marion County, Iowa, to Orange Thomas Bailey and Ada Othella Slutts Bailey.


On January 8, 1921, he was united in marriage to Gladys Stittsworth in Des Moines, Iowa.


William is preceeded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister in infancy*, and one daughter in infancy.


He is survived by his wife, Gladys; three sons: Thomas of Knoxville, Jack of Pleasantville, and John of Knoxville; two daughters: Mrs. Harold Bonnie Salzman of rural route Promise City, IA, and Mrs. Patricia Ann Tow of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Albertus Nina Kingma and one brother, Charles Bailey of rural route Tracy, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.


William was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Knoxville and a member of the Knoxville Fire Department since 1926.
