where she had been hospitalized since Dec. 9. She had formerly made her home
with a sister, Mrs. Nell Meacham. Born at the Number Ten community, she had
lived most of her life in Lafayette. She had been employed as a salad lady at
Cary Hall for 17 years, retiring in 1958. She is survived by her sister, Mrs.
Meacham. Service was held Feb. 5 in Hippensteel Chapel, Rev. J. Thomas Hodson
officiating; internment Rest Haven Memorial Park.
