Nettie Garrett was born in Jefferson Co. Illinois and as a small child her parents William Garrett and Harriett Swaim came to Hill Co. Texas before 1880 with William Parents
Wilson Garrett and Elizabeth Martin and William's brothers
Dallas and John A. Garrett.

Nettie mother Harriett died at child birth with her daughter Harriett, who also died. Nettie's father William was killed in 1890 Hill Co. Texas.

Nettie Garrett married William H. Stansberry and together they had 15 children.

Mrs. Nettie Stansberry
Following an extended illness, Mrs Nettie Stansberry, wife of W.H.Stansberry, passed
away at the family residence, 5 miles, northwest of Covington Texas at 9;25 o'clock Wednesday
morning, January 20, aged 65 years.
Funeral services, will be held at the residence at 1;00 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment
will be in the Covington Cemetery, under the director of Marshall and Marshall.
Mrs. Stansberry was born in the State of Illinois, but came to Texas when a young child.The family
locating at Peoria, Hill County,Texas and she had made her home in Hill County practically ever since.

She was married to W.H. Stansberry 47 years ago. Mrs Stansberry had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since a girl.
Surviving are her husband; one brother Joe Garrett of Oklahoma; nine children, J,L, of Whitney Ottis,
Virgil and Vernon of Covington, Mrs. Evie Wylie of Lubbock, Mrs. Beulah James of Tahoka, Mrs. Lorene Scott of Morgon, Mrs. Era William and Mrs. Ola Stanley of Covington, 25 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
