Viola Blanch Neale, 85, of Colorado Springs died April 16 in a local hospital after a short illness. She had been a school teacher in Widefield School District 3, La Junta and Rocky Ford.

Services were conducted Tuesday at Peacock Funeral Home, La Junta, with the Rev. Ralph Bullock officiating. Graveside services were conducted at Fairview Cemetery, La Junta, with members of Eastern Star Chivington Chapter 32 participating.

Mrs. Neale was born Oct. 2, 1902, in Flagler to Henry and Adda (Doughty) Brookhart. She attended Colorado Teachers' College. Mrs. Neale lived in La Junta for many years before moving to Colorado Springs in 1968. She was a member of Eastern Star Chivington Chapter 32 in La Junta and the First United Methodist Church of Colorado Springs.

She was married June 13, 1921, to Richard F. Neale, who died in 1957.

Mrs. Neale is survived by two daughters, Roberta Lear of Colorado Springs and Mary Gaubatz of Idaho Springs; a brother, Henry Brookhart of Lamar; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
