Roy Regnier passed away at his home near Fairbury, Thursday, April 4, 1957, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 25 days.
The eight child of Dr. Felix Regnier and Sallie (Sickmon) Regnier, he was born Oct. 10, 1879, at Monmouth, Ill. where he spent his boyhood and received his education.
In 1898 he moved to Baca County Colo., where he was employed for a while, later homesteaded and engaged in farming and livestock raising.
June 25, 1903, he married Katie Dacy at Springfield, Colo. In 1926 the family moved to a farm near Fairbury.
His wife, daughter, two infant sons, brother and sister preceded him in death.
Surviving are his six children: Felix, Paul, Ivan, Mrs. Pamelia Seggerman all of Fairbury; Louis of Norfolk; and Juanita at home; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Schneider, Miss Carrie Regnier, Miss Iva Regnier, and Mrs. Fannie Bigsby, all of Pacific Grove, Calif.; and brothers, George, Lincoln, John, of Medicine Lodge Kansas, and Louis of Mesita, Colorado.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with the pastor Rev. A. W. Johnson, officiating. Burial was in the Fairbury cemetery. Pallbearers were Oscar Ahrens, Deyo Traeger, Walter Kriesel, Corbett Summers, Adolph Schierkolk, and Pete Junker.
Relatives from a distance attending the service included Mr. and Mrs. John Regnier, Medicine Lodge, Kans.; Miss Adelaide Regnier, Mankato, Kans., George Regnier, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Regnier, Syracuse, Lawrence Regnier; and Kathy of Kenton Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Burch, Crete; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wahl, Lincoln; and Mr. and Mrs. George Regnier, Diller.
