1878-1972 Menno B. Beachy
Menno B. Beachy, 94, Hazelton, Iowa, formerly of Kokomo R. R. 4, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hazelton following an extended illness. He had lived in Hazelton the past two years.
Born April 4, 1878, in Holmes County, Ohio, he was the son of Benjamin and Anna Beachy.
He was married to Mary Troyer, who preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order of Amish.
Surviving are three children, Benjamin Beachy, Hazelton, Iowa; Eli Beachy, Greentown and Henry Beachy, Kalona, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Noah (Katie) Bontrager, Holmes County, Ohio; Mrs. Abe (Anna) Bontrager, Millersburg, Ohio and Mrs. Mose (Lizzie) Coblentz, Choteau, Okla., and a brother, Mose Beachy, Wellman, Iowa. A daughter (Katie Beachy) is deceased.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in the Mose Bontrager residence, 275 N on 500 E, with George Gingerich in charge. Burial will be in the Christner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bontrager home after 2 p.m. Thursday. The Pickett Funeral Home, Greentown, is directing the arrangements.
