Mrs. Anna Breitbach, 76, formerly of Rickardsville, died Wednesday noon at a Dubuque convalescent home after a four month illness. She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Mervin (Marion) Schmitt, Rt.2, Dubuque, for the past several years.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Behr Funeral Home from where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to St. Joseph's Church at Rickardsville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Breitbach was born Sept. 12, 1880 at Lore, IA, daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Heinz Schadler. On Oct 5 1919, she was married to John Breitbach, who died in 1923. She was a Catholic and a member of the Sacred Heart League and St. Philomena's parish in Asbury.
Surviving are her daughter; four sons, Edmund Breitbach, Colesburg, IA, Bernard Breitbach, Epworth, and Irvin and Francis Breitbach, both of Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. Nic (Elizabeth) Fondel and Mrs. John (Gertrude) Backes, both of Dubuque; a brother, John Schadler, Dubuque, and 19 grandchildren.
